Important
Connect the hopper to the feeder by the tube flange with a screwdriver.
Install the feeder minimum 0.6 m above the water line.
Make sure that the solar cell faces the sun (directed to the south in northern hemisphere)
and that the feeder motor doe not submerge in water.
Hopper supports (tube or ring holders) are available as accessories.
The tube holder consist of a plastic tube including pre-assembled screwed connections and
respective openings at the hopper (which are mounted after transport as hoppers cannot be
piled if tube is assembled). Then the hopper is slipped on a tube with max. 60 mm in
diameter.

Adjust black star-shaped knob (located on the top, beside the tube sleeve) by turning
2-3 times (clockwise) so that the conveyor roll is allowed free movement inside the
casting.
The food falls downwards through a gap as soon as the conveyor roll starts turning.
If the quantity of food discharged from the hopper is insufficient or to much (depending
on pellet size), turn the adjusting knob (by one turn).

SETTING THE COMPUTER (applies to all feeders except model "Standard")
Open the clear cover of the splash-proof box of the computer mounted near the solar
panel. Set feeding times and breaks. Input requested time of the day. Adjust spreading
width.
Note that the computer responds not earlier than on the following day.
If you actuate (switch off/on) again switch 1 of the timer, the computer starts again as
beginning of a new day.
Each switch is active (on) if it is pushed in on the upper side.

Timer:
When switch 1 is actuated, the system operates for a period of 2 hours.
Actuate switch 2 for another 2 hours of operation, and so on, up to switch 8.
You can actuate all switches, some or only one.
On the following days, the feeding system is automatically switched on at dawn for a 2
hour operation per actuated switch.
The indicated periods of time (e.g. 6-8 o'clock) are estimative values only, which vary
according to the season or beginning of dawn (sunrise).
Feeding Time and Pause:
All switches off: The system is out of operation.
Choose one switch each for feeding time and break.
Then, controlled by the timer, the system works according to the intervals set.
Spreader: (applies to model "Superspreader" only)
All switches off: Minimum spreading range (approx. 2 m).
Switches 1, 2, 3 on: Maximum spreading range (approx. 8-10 m).
Switch 4 on: Day-feeding.
Switch 4 off: Night-feeding.
Switch 5 on: Day- and night-feeding (on request only).
Note:
The feeding time per day should be shorter than the break intervals. Should the
accumulator be emptied due to excessive feeding times, set a shorter feeding period or
extend the break interval (or reduce the spreading width).
Drops the battery voltage below 5.2 volt, the spreader motor stops automatically in order
to save energy. The dosing motor inside works even below 5.2 volt in order to keep the
food quantity.
The model "Superspreader" is provided with a reversible front-roundspreader.
The spreading direction and area (sector- or roundspreading) can be adjusted by turning
the spreader motor and disk.
If the spreader motore and disk is positioned below the center of the feed outlet cone,
the unit spreads the feed in all directions. In this case remove the disc guide. If the
feed cone is enlarged to approx. 7-8 cm a little better round spreading is archived.
If the spreader motore and disk is positioned at one side (left or right) of the feed
outlet cone, the unit spreads the feed in one direction, depending on the side. The
required feed spreading direction is then archived by positioning the whole feeder the
appropriate position. If necessary, the turning side of the motore can be changed if the
cables in the feeder cone are changed.
Up to 40 m diameter spreader are available on request.

We warrant each automatic feeder for a period of one (1) year from the date of invoice. Should any parts prove defective within this period, they should be returned to our company, carriage paid. We will examine such parts carefully and, if satisfied that the defect is due to faulty in material or workmanship, will repair the defective parts or supply new ones, free of charge. Warranty, excluding all liability for direct or indirect demage, is restricted to material defects only (excluding the electric parts) and ceases to have any effect if the parts returned turn out to have been dismantled, tampered with or repaired outside our factory.
The warranty excludes the following:
Make sure upon installation that the feeder motor doe not submerge in water and that
the solar cell faces the sun (directed to the south in northern hemisphere).
Do not store the Solaris feeder with empty battery!
